My Gear
For any photographer, a camera is the most valued possession. So is mine too, however, till now I don’t use tripod for my Macro photography. I enjoy taking my shots handheld as this gives me the freedom of movement to reach my subjects to the closest and a better composition. I often find myself crawling or lying down to capture the rare moments that my subjects offer me.
As I value my moral responsibility towards my subjects, I do not own a studio set up too and prefer to capture them in their natural habitats. Though this may surprise many of you, it’s against my ethics to carry my subjects back home. I believe there is nothing called a perfect macro setup. Each situation is unique in itself wherein I keep changing the set up of either the flash or the camera. Even the position of the attached gears and the position from where I take the shot are not same for any two photographs.
This is the reason why the EXIF VALUE is of minimal interest to me and is missing from my photographs.
